I help solopreneurs, entrepreneurs and creators who feel stuck, unclear, scattered and/or unsure, achieve clarity in developing their personal brand, and also as it relates to the work/ideas/business they want to put out into the world, so that they can move forward and step into their sense of purpose and destiny.

On Brand - I define a brand as a promise. By this I don't only mean the promise you absolutely need to be able to deliver on when you have a product, service or offering. By this I mean that for each of us I believe our soul has a promise and a story for our life that is awaiting our direction...waiting to be awakened...so that we might become the person we are meant to become and fulfill our fullest human potential. This doesn’t happen in one quantum leap no matter how you think it looks when observing someone else's business or personal brand from the outside, but step by step. For many of us creators and entrepreneurs this is expressed through a physical business, product or service or, in other words, by offering our unique gifts to the world through these things. I am committed and passionate in helping others in reaching for and igniting this in a world where product, service, business and companies can equal a deeper purpose, and where we have the opportunity to transform ourselves - to grow...to expand our capacity...to evolve...to awaken - in the process.
The very word Logo, which is the part of a brand's visual identity that allows us to recognize a brand i.e., Apple's apple, Nike's swoosh and McDonald's golden arches, means "Word." Translated, "Word" means purpose, a plan, a pattern. This means a promise, which is why when we say "She didn't keep her word," we mean they didn't keep their promise. It's an intention and it means to do something. So often brands and the people behind them forget or never think about this deeper promise outside of the bottom line and so they don't truly or consistently keep their word, tehir promise.

On Brand Development - There are conflicting reports on who this quote originated from, but there is a quote that I have loved for years that says, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never ever forget how you made them feel.” This is about people, sure, but in many ways we can say the same about brands. In this way, brand development is about what people can feel - It transcends what people can see. It is about experience and it is reputation.
On the most fundamental and basic level, brand development is about aligning your brand with your values and objectives. It is a creative process and conceptual in its very nature...until it all starts to come to life in the way that it so effectively informs all of the other areas of your business if done correctly. It's a long-term process with far reaching benefits and impact. It's about developing the personality of your business and so, just as human beings do when choosing to connect with another human, it's about interconnectedness, interrelatedness, bonds and relationship with the audience or customers that you serve and it's the thing that makes you stand apart from your competitors. Brand development is not branding, it is not sales and it is also not about promotion. It does, however, look at your brand though a lens that sees it as a whole and ties it all together and so making you more authentic through and though, more trustworthy, more resilient, and ultimately allowing you to create a high value business.

My name is Suhailah Yoba. First name pronounced Sue-hi-la. I am a brand builder, brand marketing executive, entrepreneur, and business woman. I believe that PRODUCT (including SERVICES) can equal PURPOSE. That there is purpose in what we each feel called to create, how we feel called to show up and contribute our individual gifts and talents to the world/the world around us, how we feel called to serve and uplift others.

I am here to help others uncover what this is for them, and from this has come Awaken the Brand by Suhailah™ – a platform I created in 2018 with a beta test of a 6-week brand marketing masterclass and that now also includes one-on-one coaching services, an exclusive one-day brand strategy intensive, and a new 7-week online course of the same name for those wishing to develop their personal brand and/or their business brand. Through my brand development process I help others understand themselves in a deeper way by reflecting the truth and so, in this way, Awaken the Brand by Suhailah™ is where brand development meets personal transformation.

My career kicked off in the vibrant music industry of NYC, my birthplace, where I worked with renowned record labels like RCA Records and Island/Def Jam. Transitioning into the world of Advertising, I honed my skills at a prestigious multinational agency, where I worked on and oversaw brand campaigns for global giants such as The Coca-Cola Company, Levis, and L'Oréal Cosmetics..

As a Vice-President at an award-winning Experiential Marketing Agency, I spearheaded teams across the U.S., overseeing campaigns for brands like Guinness, HBO, and Smirnoff both in the U.S. and internationally, and building and operating their NY office.
In 2013 I launched my brand & entertainment marketing consulting firm – lanier global group.™ - where I launched with American Express as one of my first clients, and since then have had clients such as NBC Universal, USA Network, The Millennium Tour, Smart, Funny & Black and others. My journey has also intersected with clients in the realm of tech startups, including the likes of Stability AI, a $101 million AI venture. Additionally, I've lent my expertise as Chief Brand + Strategy Officer to ventures like the production company of esteemed director Anthony Hemingway..
As a I was building my career working for big and small companies, I didn't always have the choice to say yes or no to the brands and projects assigned to me and at the same time I also didn't always consume what I was asked to market and/or build. Still, I needed to be able to tell a brand story and connect it to audiences and, for that, I needed to feel connected to the brands and people behind them. In this way, I started to approach every project and client at the onset by first getting to know the person behind the product - from the beginning. Even if it's a 260 year old brand like Guinness beer where I would never get to meet its founder, or an emerging recording artists with little or no known history about to make their debut.

In a way, I started to fall in love with the people behind the products thru the brand stories I would weave together from my research and getting to know them in person, whenever I had the honor to. This allowed me to approach what I do in a more emotional and intuitive...a more passionate way and forge real connections with the brands I was responsible for leading, building and working on.

Awaken the Brand by Suhailah™ was created for existing and aspiring solopreneurs, entrepreneurs (or simply those with an entrepreneurial spirit), creators, leaders, and any individual who feels stuck and unsure about what they stand for or where they're going. It's for those who might not have ever thought about or are otherwise unclear as to who and how they are as a person...a human...connects to what they want to create in the world be that product or service, and so it is rooted in a sense of purpose and, perhaps, even destiny.

This is not a side hustle or a hobby for me, this is what I do. I have been a brand marketer and builder for 20 years now and I absolutely love what I get to do for work creatively. I also like being of service and have always felt that it is my human responsibility to leave every person and place better, or more enlightened, than when I found it...or when it found me. I bring this philosophy into all that I am, everything that I offer and to all whom I serve.

I do what I do because I like to help people make theirs dreams come true. There is a quote that I love "There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth. Everybody's crew." (Marshall McLuhan) and I wholly live by this. In this way, the thought of someone not sharing their unique and divine gifts with the world/the world around them and leaving this earth without contributing in ways they wished they could have, knew they should have, and that they felt could have been meaningful in a way that makes a difference to someone else breaks my heart. I want to help. Awaken the Brand by Suhailah™ is one of the ways in which I do this and make my own contribution. It's what I'm here for.

11 years in as an entrepreneur as of June 2024, in 2021, I furthered my commitment to entrepreneurship by completing Cornell University's program for Women's Entrepreneurship, marking another milestone in my ongoing journey of growth and innovation.
